About Super Directories
What is Super Directories?
Super Directories is a London-focused online business directory and growing Local Heroes community created to help small and independent businesses become more visible, showcase what they do and make it easier for local people to discover them.
We primarily support businesses operating across London within the M25.
You can find a fuller explanation on our How It Works page.
Is Super Directories a real UK business?
Yes.
Super Directories is operated by Super Directories Ltd, Company No. 16978767, a UK registered private limited company.
Super Directories was founded by Michelle Sweeney, known as M.
Is Super Directories established?
Super Directories is a new and growing platform currently in its Founding stage.
We do not claim decades of history or pretend to have an established audience that we are still in the process of building.
Our first Founding businesses are joining us at the beginning and becoming part of the community as Super Directories grows.
We believe being transparent about where we are is far more important than making promises we cannot support.
Where does Super Directories operate?
Super Directories primarily covers businesses serving customers across London within the M25.
A business does not necessarily need to have commercial premises within the M25. Home-based, mobile and online businesses may also be suitable where they genuinely serve London customers.
Who can join Super Directories?
Super Directories has been created primarily for small and independent businesses.
That includes sole traders, solopreneurs, home-based businesses, family-run businesses, independent retailers, tradespeople, professional services, creatives, makers, coaches, consultants, health and beauty businesses, food businesses and many more.
You don’t need a fancy office.
Kitchen-table businesses are very welcome.
And yes, sometimes the sofa counts too.
Membership & Pricing
How much does Super Directories cost?
Super Directories currently offers two annual Founding memberships:
Founding Super Hero — £249 per year
and
FEATURED Founding Super Hero — £299 per year
These are the current Founding membership prices and replace earlier pre-launch pricing.
Full current membership features can be found on our Become a Local Hero page.
Is there a monthly membership option?
No.
Super Directories currently offers annual memberships only.
There is no monthly membership option at present.
What is the difference between the £249 and £299 memberships?
Both plans provide a professional Super Directories business profile and access to our core Founding benefits.
The FEATURED Founding Super Hero membership at £299 per year provides greater profile capacity together with additional visibility and Founder support benefits.
For the most accurate and current feature-by-feature comparison, please visit our Become a Local Hero page.
What does 'Founding price locked for life' mean?
Founding members retain their Founding membership price for as long as their membership remains continuously active and renews annually without interruption.
If a Founding membership ends and the business later chooses to rejoin, the original Founding price may no longer be available.
Full conditions are set out in our membership terms.
Will Super Directories membership prices increase?
Our Founding memberships are special launch-stage prices.
Future membership options and prices may therefore be different from the current Founding offer.
Existing Founding members retain their Founding price while their qualifying membership remains continuously active, subject to our membership terms.
Your Business Profile
What does a Super Directories business profile include?
Depending on the membership selected, a Super Directories profile can include detailed business information, photographs, videos, website and social media links, reviews, opening hours, contact details, areas served, maps and directions, offers, events and supporting information.
The aim is to give potential customers a much fuller picture of the business than they would get from a simple name-and-number directory entry.
Do I need my own website to join Super Directories?
No.
A business does not need its own website to have a Super Directories profile.
For businesses without a website, a profile can provide a professional online destination where customers can learn more about the business and make contact.
If you already have a website, your Super Directories profile can provide another place for people to discover you and link through to your existing online presence.
Can home-based businesses join?
Yes.
Super Directories actively welcomes suitable home-based, cottage and small independent businesses serving London customers.
You do not need a shop, office or traditional commercial premises to be considered a Local Hero.
Can I add photographs and videos?
Yes.
Super Directories profiles can support photographs and video, with the amount of content available depending on the membership selected.
Visual content can be particularly valuable for businesses such as caterers, beauticians, designers, makers, retailers, tradespeople, venues and other businesses where customers benefit from seeing examples of the work.
Can customers leave reviews?
Yes.
Super Directories includes a customer review feature so people can share genuine feedback about businesses they have used.
Reviews should reflect genuine customer experiences and must comply with our website policies.
Can I advertise offers or events?
Yes.
Eligible profiles can publish offers, rewards and events, subject to the limits of the membership selected and our website policies.
Current offers from our Local Heroes can also be discovered through our Offers & Rewards section.
Can I edit my own business profile?
Members can manage and update the information available within their profile according to the features included in their membership.
Keeping information such as contact details, opening hours, photographs, services and links up to date helps visitors get a more accurate picture of the business.
Visibility & Results
Will joining Super Directories guarantee me customers?
No.
Super Directories cannot guarantee enquiries, customers, sales or revenue.
Our role is to provide businesses with another credible opportunity to increase their visibility, showcase what they do and make it easier for potential customers to discover and learn about them.
Super Directories should form part of a wider marketing and visibility strategy rather than being viewed as a guaranteed source of customers.
Will Super Directories get my business to the top of Google?
No business directory can responsibly guarantee a particular position in Google search results.
Super Directories gives businesses another online presence and another potential route through which customers may discover them, but search rankings are influenced by many factors outside our control.
We therefore make no guarantee of a particular Google or search-engine ranking.
How can Super Directories help my business become more visible?
A Super Directories profile creates another searchable online location containing information about your business.
Members may also benefit from additional Super Directories visibility opportunities depending on their membership, including profile features, Hero Stories, offers, events, community activity and selected promotional opportunities.
Our wider approach is based around three ideas:
Visibility. Trust. Community.
Why should I join a new business directory?
That decision will be different for every business.
Super Directories is new, which means we cannot offer decades of history or make claims based on years of member results.
What Founding members can receive is a professional online profile, access to the features within their selected membership and the opportunity to join the Local Heroes community at the beginning.
For some businesses, being part of something early will be appealing.
For others, it may not be the right time.
We would rather give businesses enough information to make an informed decision than pressure anyone into joining.
Is Super Directories just another online directory?
We hope not.
The directory is an important part of Super Directories, but the wider vision goes beyond storing business names and contact information.
We want to showcase the people behind independent businesses, tell their stories, create opportunities for greater visibility and gradually build a genuine London Local Heroes community around them.
That is why you will see Hero Stories, Local Heroes Socials and community-focused content alongside the directory itself.
Local Heroes & Community
What is a Local Hero?
“Local Hero” is our name for the independent businesses and people we celebrate through Super Directories.
You don’t need a cape.
Although we’re not stopping you.
A Local Hero might be a plumber, caterer, coach, hairdresser, maker, accountant, shop owner, therapist, photographer or any of the thousands of independent people who help keep London’s local economy moving.
What are Hero Stories?
Hero Stories are features that introduce the people and stories behind independent businesses.
Rather than only talking about what a business sells, we want people to understand something about the person, journey, passion or story behind it.
You can discover current features on our Hero Stories page.
What are Local Heroes Socials?
Local Heroes Socials are planned informal in-person opportunities for members to meet other independent business owners and people within the Super Directories community.
They are intended to feel social rather than like formal networking events.
No thirty-second pitch required before you’re allowed a drink.
Will Super Directories promote every business on social media?
Being a member of Super Directories does not mean every business is guaranteed individual promotional coverage through every Super Directories channel.
Promotional opportunities may vary according to membership, available space, relevance, campaigns and editorial decisions.
We would rather be transparent about this than promise unlimited promotion that becomes impossible to deliver as the community grows.
What does “Support Small. Champion Independent.” mean?
It reflects the wider reason Super Directories exists.
Independent businesses contribute enormously to local communities and economies, but they do not always have the marketing budgets or visibility of larger organisations.
Super Directories wants to make discovering and supporting those businesses easier while celebrating the real people behind them.
